Depending on how much of your need the school can meet, you may decide you want to apply for any number of private scholarships that can help defray costs. Websites such as Scholarships.com, CollegeBoard.com and CollegeScholarships.com have a wealth of information about a broad range of scholarships for multiple academic disciplines and can be a good place to start.

Specific Accounting Scholarships

There are also a number of accounting-specific scholarships that are available to eligible, motivated accounting students:

• The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants has an incredibly helpful accounting scholarship resource center, which includes links to their own scholarship program, as well as accounting scholarships sponsored by specific accounting firms and associations and state CPA organizations.
   
• AccountingMajors.com also features an extensive list of accounting scholarships, with a number of them geared towards women and minorities.
