A bachelor's degree in information technology (IT) equips graduates with the technical and critical thinking skills to create technology solutions for businesses.
Typically, bachelor's in IT programs include a comprehensive understanding of computer hardware and software architecture, management of information systems and core business concepts.
In general, course work for a bachelor's in information technology emphasizes programming, networking, file and data structures, specific computer languages, systems analysis and design, multimedia and animation, web development and project management.
Students can also expect their IT bachelor's courses to include training in business principles and practices. Additionally, most programs allow room for electives and an array of general education courses to meet core requirements; electives typically include literature, math and psychology.
