It is difficult to know what to expect from a business administration salary, as the discipline is so broad and opens up many possible career paths, each with varying levels of supply and demand.
Generally, though, business administration salaries run toward the higher end of the spectrum, because both business administration jobs and employees with business administration degrees are currently in high demand.
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Summer 2007 Salary Survey says that salaries offered to new business administration graduates are 3.9 percent higher than those offered last year.
According to Payscale.com, those with an associate's degree in business administration can expect to earn from $32,000 to $43,000 per year. For the same entry-level jobs, a bachelor's degree in business administration can add $2,000 to $5,000 more per year in earning potential.
An MBA can add yet another $7,000 to $11,000, though many MBAs also start out in higher-level management jobs with more responsibility. Additionally, when factoring the true value of a business administration degree, it is crucial to also consider the advancement and pay potential of each degree level—while someone with an associate's in business administration will often hit an advancement ceiling at some point, an MBA graduate has almost limitless promotional potential.
