Finance Salaries: What to ExpectResearch and compare finance career salaries Resource Center Home | Finance Career Resource Guide Home | Find Finance Schools Finance SalariesCareers in finance are consistently and steadily lucrative. Almost any finance job will bring you excellent benefits and an above average salary. And with most of these jobs, if you are willing to put in the time and effort—getting the right degrees, sustaining a fair degree of risk and pressure, and performing well in your position—a finance job just might make you rich. While financial planning careers sit at the lower end of the finance industry's salary spectrum, the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts growing demand for the job. Retiring baby boomers will have a greater need for financial planners and will thus create better future earning potential for those professionals. The investment banking field is most competitive and subsequently provides skyrocketing salaries, but those jobs are mostly restricted to major banking centers, such as New York and Los Angeles, and often demand exceedingly long hours. Corporate finance jobs fill out the middle range of the spectrum, with compensation primarily tied to factors such as the amount of individual responsibility, the number of total employees in the company, the complexity of the company's financial reports and so on. Climbing the ladder of a large corporation, therefore, can easily yield a six-figure salary. Finance Salaries Comparison Chart
