Harris School of Business is a private, post-secondary school that offers students an opportunity to pursue practical career education in the business, legal and allied health fields, with emphasis on administrative office support careers.

All students at Harris School of Business must have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent. Beyond that, Harris School of Business seeks students who have a true desire to apply themselves toward succeeding in their chosen career path. The programs at Harris School of Business are compact and intensive. Through completion of a short-term training program at our institution, students can develop confidence and a foundation for life-long learning through on-the-job training or going on to college for higher education.

Certificate in Legal Office Technology (6 month program)

(696 Clock Hours/25 Weeks)
This well-rounded six-month program provides you with computer literacy, a combination of professional skills, and specialized training in Legal Terminology and Office Procedures - to prepare you for a Legal Secretarial career.

This program is appropriate for motivated individuals who are interested in entering or re-entering a legal secretarial career. Students attend four or five days per week, depending upon the schedule, as well as one evening class for a term.

  • Word Processing (Microsoft Word)
  • Legal Terminology & Office Procedures
  • Spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel)

Certificate in Legal Office Technology (9 month program)

(984 Clock Hours/38 Weeks)
A nine-month program of the Legal Office Technology Program, in which the first six months of training are taken together with the six-month students. In the last three months, students continue developing their computer skills and perform a non-paid Internship in a legal office setting.

This program appeals to entry-level office workers, or others seeking a position in the legal office environment, who can benefit from the confidence-building of a longer program with an Internship. Students attend four or five days per week, depending upon the schedule, as well as one evening class for a term.

Note: An advanced student may be able to complete this program within a shorter amount of time. Ask for information during the Admissions Interview.

Computerized Accounting Technology

This is an intensive, highly computer-oriented program, which appeals to the student who wants a career in the accounting field. Students learn accounting principles along with a variety of software programs, with an emphasis on computerized accounting applications. The program includes an introduction to payroll procedures and a review of business letter writing.

The Computerized Accounting Technology program is targeted at individuals with good basic skills and math aptitude who seek to enter or re-enter employment in an accounting-related position.
