The purpose of the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Administrative Management program is to prepare graduates to be multi-skilled health professionals who perform administrative, clinical, and management duties in a physician's office, clinic or other type of health care facility. Students are trained first and foremost as medical assistants with additional emphasis on management skills.
They may manage both routine and emergency situations, along with overseeing the staff and facilities. Course work in office and human resource management will aid in professional growth and ability to assume a leadership role.
An accountant has a crucial function in business. In today's environment, however, there are additional skills required to be successful beyond the knowledge of accounting procedures. Spencerian College's Accounting Diploma program is designed to prepare you to administer accounting systems for small to medium size businesses but also to teach you to combine accounting principles with the modern technology of the computer.
Health Unit Coordinators work at the nurses' station in health care facilities, coordinating the non-clinical activities, clerical, and support functions related to patient care. Duties include transcribing physicians' orders, scheduling diagnostic tests and treatments for patients, managing the patients' charts, and maintaining unit supplies.
