Virginia College has a long history of offering new direction to its students.

The College was founded by the Atlantis Group, Inc., in 1983 and then purchased by Career Futures, Inc., in 1989. The College opened its first branch campus in Birmingham, Alabama, in February 1992, and this became the main campus in 1995. In April 1993, the College opened its second branch campus in Huntsville, Alabama. In 1997, Virginia College received senior college recognition from the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools(ACICS) which now accredits all programs at the school's campuses.

Associate's - Accounting Specialist

The accounting specialist program is designed to meet the needs of those students who work in the accounting field or who are presently employed and want to complete additional accounting courses beyond the diploma level. As a student in this program, you'll prepare for positions such as accounting clerk, accounts payable/receivable specialists, personal income tax clerks, collection clerks or professional bookkeepers.

Special emphasis is placed on combining accounting theory and practice with the microcomputer with advanced computerized accounting classes. Upon graduation, you will be encouraged to sit for the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) national certification.

Associate's - Medical Office Administration

Medical Office Administrators perform both administrative and clinical duties, reporting directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner. Students learn to work closely with doctors and other support personnel as well as how to use medical terminology, medical office procedures, and insurance coding to prepare for a career in this growing, specialized field. Bachelor's - Business Administration

The Bachelor's in Business Administration program is designed for students who are interested in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to perform a variety of administrative functions in the business world.

This program is also beneficial for those in lower-tier management positions and who need the baccalaureate credential to progress in their corporate hierarchy. It has become more and more important for job seekers to have a bachelor's degree to compete for positions or achieve advancement in today's business climate.

Master's - Business Administration

The Master of Science in Business Administration program is designed for students who are interested in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to perform a variety of administrative functions in the business world. The Bachelor's in Business Administration is also beneficial for those in lower-tier management positions and who need the baccalaureate credential to progress in their corporate hierarchy. It has become more and more important for job seekers to have a bachelor's degree to compete for positions or achieve advancement in today's business climate. Now, Virginia College offers students a chance to apply previously earned credit to completing a degree.
