Associate of Science in Business

The Associate of Science degree in Business provides students with skills in basic management, accounting and computer science applications. The program is designed to impart an understanding of fundamental business management principles and to develop a diversity of business knowledge. Students are given an academic background from computer science to principles of finance.

The program covers sales and marketing concepts, customer relations, economics, management, marketing and accounting principles. Principles of Management covers an analysis of management principles integrated with concepts of the behavioral sciences. Management processes, resources and organizational structures are also introduced. Introduction to Marketing covers such topics as characteristics of markets for consumer goods, marketing functions and techniques, price policies and marketing costs.

To broaden students' knowledge of business and increase effective communication skills, customer relations and human resources courses are provided. Since the workforce has made the transition to an automated and digital environment, the business program stresses the importance of computer applications and word processing by offering computer courses to gain experience. Upon graduation, students will be prepared for entry-level positions in business, industry and government.
