Founded in Miami, Florida as the Florida Programming and Educational Center, the school's first classes began in 1982. In 2003, the Center changed its name to Florida Career College. Through the years, the school has grown and expanded with additional courses and programs developed to match student skills with the needs of employers. In order to adapt to today's dynamic computer industry and business sectors, we work closely with hardware and software manufacturers, professional associations and employers. Florida Career College offers:

Flexible Programs & Scheduling - Students may change from one program to another and/or from day to evening or weekend classes - with hardly any interruption.

In this 9-month program (formerly named Microsoft Office Specialist), students learn the fundamentals of computers and widely used software for today's automated business environments. Instruction in word processing, spreadsheet, database management and computer operations enhance the student's familiarity with office technology and procedures. Learn to use computers and popular business software such as: Windows; Word; Excel; Access; PowerPoint; Outlook and Internet Explorer. Upon graduation, you will have the skills you need for employment and advancement.

In this 24-month program, students begin by learning the fundamentals of computers, operating systems and application software. Several web design products and languages are introduced, allowing students to design powerful and effective Web sites. Students learn about the networking environments that allow servers to run. Becoming a "Web professional" requires a broad range of skills and knowledge to build and manage an organization's Web site - whether Internet or Intranet. Our courses cover topics such as: Web site designing; graphics and animation; e-marketing; e-commerce; programming languages; database design and network support.

This degree program prepares students with the necessary foundations to apply business skills and principles in the industry and to meet the demands of today's business world. Students are provided with a course of study that allows them to have an advanced knowledge of business and management. Some career employment opportunities students will be prepared for include business managers, human resource personnel, entrepreneur and office administrator.
