Bachelor’s – AccountingBack to topThe goal of our accounting program is to prepare students to be on the decision-making team, not just account for the decisions. With this in mind, a Pitt-Bradford accounting student is going to graduate with a liberal arts background and a degree in another discipline. This will ensure that the student has critical thinking and analytical skills, an ability to effectively communicate and a knowledge of the environment which will be affected by the decisions. Our graduates are working with businesses to develop strategies, investors to analyze mergers and acquisitions, with boards of directors and with all types of organizations to measure and communicate financial results. Several of our recent graduates have gone into public accounting. Others have embarked on careers in managerial accounting and government accounting. A number of graduates have entered corporations as accountants and have migrated into other areas such as management and marketing. Bachelor’s – Business ManagementBack to top
The objective of the business management program is to provide students with a comprehensive undergraduate preparation for a variety of administrative positions. Consistent with the mission of Pitt-Bradford, the business management program emphasizes a broad liberal arts requirement, primarily during the first two years of study. Students who major in a discipline other than business management may earn a minor in business management. Bachelor’s – EntrepreneurshipBack to topThe objective of this program is to enable students to develop the necessary applied skills by integrating entrepreneurship education with an academic and technical curriculum that stresses financial and people management, interpersonal communication and business planning skills. Our graduates will understand the nature of the entrepreneurial process and the many contexts in which that process applies by embracing entrepreneurship as a philosophy of life. They will be able to develop fundable new venture business plans for the successful launching of regionally-based entrepreneurial ventures.
