Brookstone College of Business features modern facilities,
hands-on training, qualified faculty, and accessibility to major
businesses.
Established in 1939, Brookstone College of Business was
previously known as Ashmore Business College and Asheboro
Business College. Ashmore Business College was the first
nationally accredited business college in North Carolina while
Asheboro College was the first junior college of business in
North Carolina licensed to award degrees. In 1984, these two
schools were combined and relocated to the Piedmont Triad
(Greensboro, Winston-Salem & High Point) area. The name of
the new institution became Brookstone College of Business and the
programs of study were shortened to certificate programs to
facilitate quicker entry for graduates into the workforce. In
1987 a campus was opened in Charlotte, North Carolina. Today
Brookstone College is established as a private business college
for the primary purpose of providing postsecondary training and
education for business and professional careers offering programs
that culminate in the awarding of a certificate or diploma.
Brookstone College of Business is accredited by the Accrediting
Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award
certificates and diplomas. The Accrediting Council for
Independent Colleges and Schools is listed as a nationally
recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of
