Indiana Business College is a postsecondary, proprietary educational institution. Founded as a single campus in 1902, the college has grown to 11 on-ground campuses across the state of Indiana. We have an online division and a culinary division, The Chef's Academy. We currently offer more than 20 programs of study for our students in the areas of business, medical, information technology, criminal justice and culinary arts.

Accreditation

Indiana Business College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award certificates, diplomas and associate of applied science degrees.

Diploma - Accounting Assistant

The accounting assistant program covers basic bookkeeping, computerized accounting and beginning accounting theory. It prepares students for entry-level positions in billing, accounts payable or receivable, and bookkeeping. Upon completing this program, students may transfer all earned credits toward the Accounting Associate of Applied Science degree.

Diploma - Office Assistant

This program provides the essential training for general administrative support positions. Basic bookkeeping principles are included to enhance preparation for the clerical work many office assistants are expected to handle. After completion of this program, students may transfer all earned credits toward the Administrative Professional Associate of Applied Science program.

Associate's - Accounting

This program is designed to provide specific preparation for private and public accounting as well as the advanced areas of general accounting. Graduates are prepared for positions in private business, public accounting and government. The program provides an excellent foundation for you to begin a career in cost accounting, tax accounting or internal auditing.

Associate's - Business Administration - Finance

This program provides students with an extensive business background, focusing on principles of finance. Specialized courses in banking and the interpretation of financial statements provide the foundation for students to begin careers in banking, insurance, lending and many other related industries.

Associate's - Business Administration - Management

This program provides students with an extensive business background, focusing on principles of management. The program includes specialized courses in the use of electronic software designed to enhance the effectiveness of one's ability to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the status of a project. Graduates of the program are prepared to begin careers as manager trainees or project assistants in any number of industries.

Associate's - Business Administration - Marketing

This program provides students with an extensive business background, focusing on principles of marketing. Specialized courses provide the foundation for students to begin careers in retail management, sales, advertising and many other related industries.

Associate's - Human Resources

In the human resources program students learn how to do the following:

• Maintain an organization's personnel records
• Assist with internal and external notification of position openings
• Help in the hiring process
• Answer employee questions
• Prepare reports for managers
• Administer aptitude tests
• Screen applicants

Bachelor's - Business Management

The Business Management Bachelor's degree provides business students with a thorough understanding of theory and application related to the business environment. Students will be able to collect and analyze data, identify alternative solutions and select the most appropriate course of action for specific business problems.

The program seeks to develop knowledge and skills in research, critical thinking, problem-solving and current technology for application and use in communication, data collection/analysis and solving business problems. Students will also be provided with an understanding of professional ethics and its application to the business environment.

The program has been developed as a completion program for students who have graduated from an accredited associate's degree program in a related area, or who have earned college credit equivalent to such a degree.
