All of IBMC's business programs include extensive hands-on computer training, accounting, and practical application of business concepts. Critical thinking, professionalism and decision-making are integral parts of the curriculum. All programs include an Externship where students gain experience in the job setting. Externship provides an opportunity to practice the skills learned under direct supervision in an actual work environment. Associate's in Business Administration & AccountingBack to topThe role of today's office professional continues to evolve as technology continues to change the modern workplace. Office professionals need to excel in written and oral communication, interpersonal proficiency, organizational and management ability, accounting, computer and general business knowledge. In our business program you will obtain a solid foundation in the human and organizational aspects of management, a broad background in business administration and a good understanding of accounting. You will be prepared to apply supervisory knowledge and skills in a variety of challenging situations in the business world. The accounting portion of the program is designed to permit dual entry-level employment options into either computer or accounting fields. The program provides a background in accounting concepts, general business procedures, with an emphasis on application software packages in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and financial software. The objective of this program is to provide graduates with a solid foundation of administrative assisting basics and an understanding of general office processes and procedures. You will obtain a broad background in communications, computer skills and interpersonal skills. Graduates will have the opportunity to become certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist in two of the four following disciplines: Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access Database.
