The information systems management major is designed to develop an understanding of how successful businesses have streamlined their systems and reorganized their staffs so that vast amounts of information are exchanged more efficiently than ever. The program provides a broad background in business administration, combining computer technology with strong managerial techniques and interpersonal skills. Students learn to communicate electronically and to use the Internet, online data services, spreadsheets, graphics, database and project management software to solve business problems.

The program draws heavily upon the resources of New York's fashion world and cultural centers; includes field trips to trade shows, museums, designers and showrooms; and incorporates a full-time fashion internship.

The Associate of Applied Science in Financial Services is designed to provide an overview of financial institutions, the products and services they offer, and their importance to the economy. The curriculum, built on a solid business and technology core, emphasizes financial planning and exchange, and considers investment securities management.

AS or AAS in International Business

Both programs explore the dynamics of multinational and multicultural business environments and prepare students to manage successfully in the large, multinational markets that are emerging in North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Pacific Rim and elsewhere.

The Associate of Science degree program requires a foreign language. If you wish to develop proficiency in either Spanish or French--two important international business languages--you should choose the AS degree.

If you prefer to focus more intensively on business studies, you should choose the Associate of Applied Science degree program, which has no foreign language requirement. Our AAS program integrates a solid foundation in international trade, marketing and management; knowledge of global business practices; an understanding of cultural and environmental contexts of international business; and strong technological skills.

Berkeley College also offers students the opportunity to broaden their experience and study overseas while earning academic credits.
