Herzing University

Herzing University was one of the first post-secondary institutions founded to train students for the computer industry. The first Herzing University was founded as a computer programming school in 1965 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, by Henry and Suzanne Herzing. Since then, Herzing University has grown from a modest classroom to a progressive leader in career education. The Herzing University system now includes campuses in eight U.S. states, located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, Omaha, Ohio and Wisconsin. In addition, there are four Canadian campuses in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba. For distance learners, Herzing Online offers more than 30 different academic programs.

While expanding its campuses, Herzing also diversified its educational programs to include the fields of business management, electronics, health care, design and public safety. It also raised the level of credentials from not only diplomas, but also bachelors of science degrees and associate of science degrees at all its U.S. campuses. In addition, Herzing Online offers an MBA with three different concentrations.

Earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in 3 years

Herzing University assures that a student enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program can complete the program requirements and earn the degree in three years, or Herzing University will provide, at no tuition cost to the student, any additional courses required to complete the program. Courses in the last four semesters are usually offered in the evening. (Subject to conditions, see current Herzing University catalog for details. Not available at all Herzing campuses.)

Diploma in Bookkeeping & Payroll Accounting

The average length of time for a student taking a full course load is two semesters (eight months), but the program can be completed in one-and-a-half semesters (six months). A minimum of 24 semester credit hours is required for graduation.

Required courses include:

• Accounting
• Payroll Accounting
• Computers and Application Software
• Spreadsheets
• Business Mathematics

Associate of Applied Science in Accounting

The program prepares students with the necessary skills and academic knowledge for entry-level accounting positions in various business enterprises. In addition to providing a firm foundation in general business, the program provides students with a thorough grounding in both the theory and practice of accounting. The length and content of the program is structured to prepare the graduate to take the uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination once the graduate has gained the required number of years of experience in accounting to be eligible to take the examination.

Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration

The program prepares students with the necessary skills and academic knowledge for entry-level positions in various business enterprises. These career opportunities may be in areas such as accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, business administration, sales, marketing and human resources.
