Business Administration - Diploma

Business Management - Bachelor's

The overall objective of the Bachelor of Science in Business Management starts with in-depth training for individuals seeking employment in the field of business. This program introduces students to the process of management, which includes the planning, organizing, directing and controlling functions of running a business. Students will be able to pursue career opportunities in their emphasis areas with an ability to provide leadership in their areas of expertise.

Cosmetology Business - Associate's

The cosmetology business program will provide students with a business foundation that will extend their applied emphasis in cosmetology by preparing graduates for further advancement toward independent ownership, potential entry-level managerial and other beauty industry career opportunities. The required general education course work will establish critical thinking and problem solving skills, which will be enhanced throughout the business specialization coursework.

Health Care Management - Bachelor's

The objective of the Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management is to prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits required for entry level positions in health care administration. Its curriculum will prepare the graduates with the knowledge and skills for entry-level management positions including human resources, financial, data collection and analysis, planning, marketing and other administrative/management functions within public, private and government health care industries. Students will provide evidence of competencies in communication, social sciences, humanities and fine arts, analytical and inferential reasoning and computational skills as well as the ability to learn on one's own.

Information Technology - Associate's or Bachelor's

The information technology programs are designed to educate students in technology and business. The associate's degree focuses on teaching students fundamental knowledge in the principles of computers including software development, database, networking and security. This degree prepares students for entry-level positions in network support or software development. In addition to technical knowledge, students will also learn basic business principles. The bachelor's degree covers a wider area of knowledge and students have the opportunity to become information technology professionals in network administration, database management, internet development or software development. In addition, students will be required to complete general education requirements in the areas of communication, social science, natural science and humanities.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Our MBA degree program is designed to provide graduate education for students in the managerial leadership principles of business for the twenty-first century-entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship, the ability to turn information into ideas and ideas into substantive information, fosters the creation of self-generative professional development, which is an essential strategy for all employees. Our program will prepare students for middle and upper management positions in business and industry, as well as in small business development and ownership, and increase its graduates' abilities to interpret, add to and generate research in order to develop and apply effective business solutions.

Master of Science in Management (MSM)

The Master's of Business Management degree helps people advance in a wide range of careers involving management of others. The program involves the following three separate focuses:

• Health Care Management
• Information Technology
• Managerial Leadership

To apply, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the three above fields or a related field. Students can receive credit for relevant work experience or graduate-level courses taken at approved institutions. Only 50 percent of the program's credits must be fulfilled through Minnesota School of Business classes. We do not charge fees for transfer or work experience credits.

Media Business - Bachelor's

Media is a broad term that refers to various means of communication. The Internet, digital videos, music, television, radio, newspapers, billboards and direct mail are all forms of multimedia. A business professional with strong technical skills and an understanding of the roles of various media in an industry can look forward to rewarding, high-paying career options. Media-related business activities include Internet marketing and advertising, media planning and coordination, public opinion research and sales.

The Bachelor's in Media Business is called a "2+2" program, available to the student who holds an associate (2-year) degree in an area of creative production. Qualifying technical training includes 60 credits in any of a wide range of areas, including graphic design, music production, video production, audio engineering, digital photography and Web site design.

Every corporation, small business, government agency, educational institution or other type of organization relies on media to spread its message. To do so effectively, they need media production specialists whose technical skills are enhanced by fundamental business training, strong general communication skills and a broad base of general knowledge. Our Bachelor's in Media Business degree program provides that complex skill set. As a graduate, you will be well-prepared for in-house positions in corporations or to succeed as an independent contractor. Production activities include video conferencing, video editing, audio/video coordination and installation, audio engineering, graphic design, digital imaging and general media services.

Sales and Marketing Management - Associate's

This program provides graduates with the fundamental knowledge to pursue a sales and marketing career in today's complex business environment. With the skill set acquired from learning about consumer buying behavior, market research, the selling process and other related topics, graduates can prosper in such careers as a marketing manager, sales representative, promotions manager, customer service representative and advertising assistant.

This Associate in Applied Science program provides a balance of specialized education and credentials that develop students' skills required for effective communications, teamwork and critical thinking.

Transportation Business - Associate's

The transportation business program will provide students with a complete transportation business foundation that will extend their self-selected applied emphasis in either truck driving or heavy equipment operations; by preparing graduates for further advancement toward potential managerial and other transportation related career opportunities. The required general education course work will establish critical thinking and problem solving skills, which will be enhanced throughout the transportation business specialization coursework.
