Broadview University

Over the years, Utah Career College has, in response to the needs of students and employers, expanded its curriculum and its geographic presence. In 2010, it became clear that name no longer reflected all we offer—graduate as well as undergraduate degrees, plans for expansion to neighboring states, and academic programs in a growing number of fields. We had outgrown our name.

Today, our historic institution is Broadview University. The name embodies our vision of building strong communities through the growth and success of our students. We invite you to grow with us!

For more than 30 years, our school has provided hands-on training that prepares students for careers in business, industry and government.

Helping students achieve career and life goals

Our mission is to provide each student with a high-quality education that will lead to professional and personal success. Our history is a record of success in fulfilling that charge by implementing a simple and clear formula for success:

  • Degree programs that meet the needs of employers
  • Personal attention for every student
  • Instructors with experience in the field

Broadview University is nationally accredited, a member of Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). This accreditation verifies our long-standing record of excellence in career education.

Earn an associate degree in accounting and be prepared for excellent career opportunities. Many employers seek job candidates with two-year accounting degrees for entry-level positions, and then train the employees in their companies' specific corporate processes. The Associate in Accounting and Taxation degree program also prepares graduates to act as independent agents, operating home-based accounting and tax preparation services.

The Broadview University Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Accounting and Taxation degree program requires two years of full-time study, and can be completed at any of our school's campus locations, including West Jordan (15 miles south of Salt Lake City Center) and Layton. Flexible options that help students complete their associate degrees efficiently include day, evening and online classes and part-time and full-time programs. We also offer a complete online accounting degree program.

Our Accounting Program Advisory Committee is a group of business and accounting professionals and employers. The committee is responsible for regularly reviewing Broadview University's accounting programs, and ensures that graduates of our Associate in Accounting and Taxation degree program have the skills and training necessary to pass certification exams and to succeed in careers in accounting. Some graduates find employment with accounting firms, small businesses and general accounting departments. Others enjoy the freedom and financial rewards they experience as home-based business and tax consultants.
